The material melts into the work and transcends its simple function.
It is the frame, the mat and the depth of the subject it carries.
L'encre et la matière se révèlent mutuellement, vibrant dans un jeu de lumière et de transparence.
We see more images in 10 minutes than our ancestors did in a lifetime. Images with which we identify and which shape our habits, our desires, our fantasies and even our dreams.
I like to immerse myself in this flow of visuals, like a journey through our fascinating visual matrix. I see each image as a brick of reality to be recomposed and rethought at will. In photomontage, I find the opportunity to propose and share alternative ideas.
I like to tackle a variety of themes and experiment with unusual worlds. Sometimes I just create or rework an image with no other aim than aesthetics or the emotion it may arouse.
The metal plate evokes the origins of photography and its first prints, the « daguerreotype » of the early XIXème century. The black-and-white photo blends naturally with this support, in a play of tone-on-tone transparency with its material.
Brushed aluminuim intensifies the vibration of colors and grayscales. Light seems to pass through it, where texture reveals its weft. It becomes a photo negative, creating a space between two worlds, in which I invite you to wander...
The material is no longer just a support, but an integral component of the work. It is at once the frame, the passe-partout, the image and the dimension of the subject represented. A purification of the painting object in its most sober form.
